Here is an example we used for an American Apparel garment with a VGKids design.
- Care Instructions. You can use text or symbols. You may find this link helpful regarding symbols.
- RN Number. RN stands for Registered Identification Number. It is a number issued by the FTC to U.S. businesses in the manufacturing, importing, or distributing of products covered by the Textile, Wool and Fur Acts. The RN number tells the manufacturer of the shirt without stating the company's name.
We have started to compile a short list of commonly used RN numbers here, which we will add to as we go along. If you need help finding one, just let us know! This link is also helpful.
- Country of Origin. Your artwork must state where the garment was made. For example, all American Apparel garments are made in the US, so artwork printed on the inside of them would say, "Made in the USA." We can assist you in getting this information as well. In some cases we may need to order the garments, wait for them to come in, and then check the label (hence the 2 to 4 week turnaround time).
- Fiber Content. That's 100% cotton, or 50% cotton 50% polyester, etc. Whatever the fiber content of the garment is.
